Croatian born Damir Doma spent his youth in southern Germany where his mother owned and operated a clothing atelier. This early exposure led him to study fashion as an adult in Munich and Berlin, and after graduating in 2004 he began to work for Ann Demuelemeester and later Raf Simons. He launched his own collection at Paris fashion week in June of 2007 and received immediate acclaim. Damir's collection is unique insofar as it bears no vestige of formal masculine elements; instead he has undertook to create an entirely new image of masculinity with clothing that bears no specific cultural references and accentuates individuality by neither obscuring nor obstructing the wearer's natural silhouette and featuring self-styled tie closures.
