Founded in 2000 by Örjan Andersson, Cheap Monday is best known for reinventing the skinny jean. Their signature high-waisted and ultra-tapered stretch denim line hit the market in 2004 and begat a new aesthetic paradigm around the world. Since then the brand has expanded into a full concept collection consisting of several seperately branded ranges: Kostym (read costume), a more tradition inspired tailored line; WKND, a flashy and edgy streetwear line; Flash, an ultra affordable line; as well as the main Cheap Monday collection now headed by Ann-Sofie Back. With Back at the helm Cheap Monday’s main line is developed enough to contend with more established high-fashion designers.
