San Franciscan native Alexander Wang moved to New York at the tender age of eighteen to attend Parsons School of Design. After several internships at Marc Jacobs, Teen Vogue, and Derek Lam he realized that what he really wanted was to design his own collection. In his time off from school he developed a small line of cashmere knits which received immediate acclaim. Wang then expanded into producing a full range of Ready-to-Wear earning him many prestigious industry awards such as the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award, the Vogue/CFDA Fund, as well as the CFDA Swarovski Womens Wear Designer of the Year Award. His image has been described as the “off-duty model” look, combining “chic tailoring and luxurious materials with a cool, laid-back street sensibility.”
